For Grandma

Grandma (Pat Hanson) is in her final weeks of a long, beautiful life. 

On Easter we all found out that she has very advanced lung cancer.

Here she is with her favorite boys on Easter day.

Avery loves all of Grandma's fruit trees and bushes when he visits.

Oakland to Santa Cruz, A to Z

Turns out that Avery is not the only Hanson interested in mer-people.

Our neighbors' goats had two babies last week. We got to hold them and Avery fed them.

If this shopping trip looks easy to any of you, let me just say, it's not. 

Sometimes they play too rough and Zeal gets hurt. Sometimes they just read.

Avery's Adventures: Turkeys, Hot Tubs, and Dress-Up

We have wild turkeys in our neighborhood. On this particular morning, there were three males courting one female. Many mornings, they come right up to our neighbor's front door for cat food.

Now that this has happened twice in 6 months, we are going to get this deodar cedar trimmed this summer. It makes for a good ship, though.
