Beach Shots, Nantucket Part 2

Our favorite beach off Hinckley Lane, friends Jeff & Rachel at the island's brewery, and a lobster date with Opa.

Avery started snorkeling this summer. Next goal: swimming!

Because toy lobsters and real lobsters otherwise wouldn't meet.

Looking at Opa in a butter daze.

Nantucket Strawberry Picking

We went strawberry picking about 5 times this summer in Nantucket at Bartlett's Farm. Here is our first trip (sans Avery, who was getting ice cream with Mimi). We went with Rachel, Jeff, Calvin, and Jules, who followed us from Boston to Nantucket for a few days. The outtakes below are quite valuable and just couldn't be left out. Apolgies to Rachel and myself.

Visiting Pops

My (Christine's) great uncle, Craig Campbell, is now 98 years old. He has been like a grandfather to me and a constant source of rich storytelling and devoted adoration to his 6 children, 4 nieces, and countless grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great nieces and nephews. Zeal and Avery are his great great nephews. Craig is the son of Vivian Zeal Savini, Zeal's namesake.

He lives in Plymouth with his daughter, Dausha. He is mobile on his electric wheels, volunteers at the library, sends political and humor emails daily, and watches old classic films.

A portrait of his late wife, Margi, is in the background.

We visited Dausha at her stable, Serendipity Farm. Avery got his first horse riding lesson.

Boston Bound

We started our summer out right: a visit to Jeff, Rachel, Jules, and Calvin in their new home in Boston.

In their kitchen, which they planned and assembled themselves.

Their sunny plant room

Their beautiful photographic homage to family.

Then we had the pleasure of celebrating the marriage of Shoshana and Yotam in Boston. Shoshana and Christine went to Oberlin together.

The lovely bride

A reunion of Oberlin friends

Avery shares with the bride "I love you."

And in Jewish custom, the bride shares special blessings on her wedding day.
She is blessing Avery's garden-filled life in Oakland.
