Guido Garden Update

We discovered this sign at a neighbor's house here on Guido Street

The gazebo is open and ready for reading, sipping, gardener oggling.

Another perch with garden views

Late afternoon

Blushing peaches

The Three Sisters planting is waist high. Corn, squash, beans.

Corn tassles

Flower starts

Apples

Our favorite cut flowers: astroemeria

Raspberries!

How much we pick every 2 days:

Duck house with sun reflector because....

One duck has gotten broody and won't leave the nest. We expect ducklings at the end of June.
You can see all the loose eggs she isn't on; we're not sure if she was just overwhelmed by the quantity. She is sitting on about 15 eggs. Maybe they are all hers and the others are her sisters'.

Meanwhile, inside, we are doing some fermentation projects like sauerkraut and ginger carrots.

And playing doctor (Avery and midwife, Lael, with a fetoscope)

31 weeks. Head is down and baby is active.

International Day at Avery's School

Avery celebrated International Day at his Montessori school last week. Papa took the day off work to volunteer, which meant they both dressed up. Avery wore an Indo-Turkish outfit. Chris wore a Spanish shirt.

The morning included traveling around the world from booth to booth, doing crafts and eating special foods. Each class represented a different continent and had created their own food and craft tables.

Apparently, the muesli in Europe was Avery's favorite.

Avery and Brookie decorated masks.

And they all watched dance performances by each class.

What a worldly little guy.

Neighbors!

We have the best neighbors: Astrid and William.  Last weekend we took them to the zoo.

We saw a guinea hog (from which boar bristles are harvested).

And tortoises (see Avery trying to stand like Astrid?)

She helped him the whole morning.

And they inspected the small animals at the zoo (spiders).

We saw a baby baboon clinging to its mother.

The zoo has rides, too!

Such a good outing for all!

The Daring Boy at Sanford Farm, Nantucket

Nantucket in April

Since we are not able to travel this east summer because we'll be getting ready to have a baby, we went to Nantucket in April for spring break. Mimi and Opa met us there to spend one brisk, sunny, fantastic week.
