Save the Date!

Our wedding date and location have been set!
We will say our vows on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Dawn Ranch in Guerneville, California.
For those coming from far away, we encourage you to make reservations at Dawn Ranch soon, as space is somewhat limited. You can contact Dawn Ranch at 707.869.0656 or visit their website.
There are cabins offered at different prices, so please choose what works best for you. The weather will be warm and the ranch is on a river, so plan to swim, boat, wine taste, and have a blast! We can't wait!!!

We just organized a gift registry with an online company called MyRegistry. It allows us to choose from a variety of stores, which we like. The way to view it is to go to myregistry.com and then type in Christopher Hanson. We so appreciate your checking it out!

The Big News

Yes, it's true! We are getting married! Now, you must say it like this "mauw...eed," so that you sound truly like a Kindergartner from Boston. Yes, getting mauweed is what we'll be doing next summer.

Lots of friends and family have been asking us, When? Where? And the answers to those questions are still vague: In the summer and somewhere in the Bay Area. Currently we are looking a few places and trying to decide just how campy we want the whole lovely affair to be. We would be happy to get married in a canoe on the Russian River, but we have 200+ people we want to be there, so we're looking into alternatives.

Keep updated to find out more!

How We Met

We were introduced to each other by expert matchmaker and close friend, Joanie Sears. In August 2006, Joanie and Christine had just begun working at Wildwood Elementary together. Joanie and Chris had known each other for about 8 years and had met in Santa Cruz through their dogs, Luna and Milo. When Joanie met Christine, she knew instantly that Chris had to meet her. So she worked her magic. She told Chris she would bring "the woman of his dreams" to his show at the Freight and Salvage in Berkeley. She casually told Christine that a good friend of hers who would be playing music in Berkeley and would she be interested in going? As luck would have it, Chris performed two of his songs and won the West Coast Songwriters annual award for best song. Christine was impressed. Joanie invited both to her house the following night for dinner. And the rest is beautiful history!
