Halloween

Halloween fell on Christine's day off, so Avery got Mama at school for the morning. 

Here he is walking to school in his new cape. 

The cape is a handmade gift from Tina Lewis, family friend and textile crafter extraordinaire. 

Avery requested a sad pumpkin who misses his Mama. Later, he said it was Auntie Lauren who the pumpkin missed. 

On Halloween Eve, we enjoyed homemade pumpkin ice cream made from scratch.

We had to force the first bite into Zeal's mouth because he thought it was more the cauliflower soup we'd had for dinner. When we realized his error, he didn't look up once from his ice cream cup.

So Zeal needs a little explanation. He was Peter Pan in a converted Kermit costume.

A typical Halloween prank: readjusting a neighbor's watering system.

Guido Street basically shut down to cars because there were so many people out.

This kid has no fear going up to any door and knocking boldly.

After counting his candy, Avery stood at the front door and put on a Captain Hook show 

for all trick-or-treaters. 

As the night wore on, he started broadcasting "I've got candy! 

Come to my house and I'll give it to you!"
